Review of StrongArm 4135 Mitsubishi Eclipse w/wiper and/or spoiler Hatch Lift Support 2000-04, Pack of 1
I purchased a pair of these for my wife’s 2000 Eclipse GT as the rear hatch wasn’t popping up when the lever was engaged, as well as it was sometimes not holding at the fully lifted position. When she told me it clunked her in the head when she was getting something out of the trunk I knew I had to replace the stock units. The new Strongarm’s were very easy to replace, although you do need a Torx T40 screwdriver for the bolts on her car and someone to hold the hatch up ( I used a board of the correct length as I was by myself, but don’t try this unless you assume any and all responsibility
), just unscrew the old and install the new. The new arms came with bolts already on the arms. You do have to lift up a little on the hatch to allign the second bolt but after installing this product, the hatch pops up when the lever is pulled or the key is turned and it lifts up and stays there as it should. Would highly recommend this product, the price was also very reasonable. I searched a couple other places and couldn’t find these for less money, I believe the shipping was also free since the order was over $25. Very pleased overall.

Product Description:
StrongArm gas charged lift supports are custom engineered and manufactured beyond industry standards to provide smooth operation and durability. The hardened chromium plated steel shaft is precision ground and polished for superior corrosion resistance and leak free sealing. Most units also utilize StrongArm’s patented temperature compensation module valve which ensures consistent operation even in extreme weather conditions. It does so by compensating for normal gas pressure changes caused by temperature variations.
